Product Description
Reliable DC Isolation for Solar Systems
The SMS SUNMATE DC Isolator Switch provides a disconnection option for compatible solar DC circuits. It is intended for installations that require a suitable isolation point. The stated 1000V DC rating must be verified against the exact product specifications before use.
A correctly selected isolator helps technicians disconnect designated circuits during approved procedures. However, it must match the electrical design of the solar installation.
Why Choose a DC Isolator Switch?
A DC Isolator Switch helps separate a compatible DC circuit from connected equipment. This function can support maintenance and inspection when performed under approved safety procedures.
For solar systems, the switch must be designed specifically for the required DC application. AC-rated switches are not automatically suitable for DC circuits.
Therefore, always confirm the switching rating and intended use before purchase.
Important Specifications to Review
Before buying the SMS SUNMATE DC Isolator Switch, check the technical details carefully.
Review the following specifications:
- Maximum DC operating voltage.
- Rated current and switching capacity.
- Number of poles and wiring arrangement.
- Enclosure protection rating.
- Cable size and terminal compatibility.
- Mounting method and operating conditions.
These details help confirm whether the product suits your installation. Ask the supplier for the official datasheet if information is missing.
Support Safe Maintenance Procedures
A suitable DC Isolator Switch provides a designated disconnect point. This can help qualified technicians follow the correct maintenance process.
However, switching off an isolator does not guarantee that every component is free from voltage. Solar panels may still generate electricity in daylight. Stored energy and other power sources may also create hazards.
For this reason, follow the manufacturer’s instructions and local electrical safety rules. Never rely on the switch alone to verify that a circuit is safe.
Installation and Correct Use
Have a qualified professional install the switch. Use suitable wiring, connectors, and protective equipment. Furthermore, follow the specified mounting and connection instructions.
Do not exceed the switch’s rated voltage or current. Inspect the equipment as recommended by the manufacturer, and replace damaged components promptly.
Choose the Correct Solar Protection Accessory
The SMS SUNMATE DC Isolator Switch is intended for compatible solar applications that require DC circuit isolation. Its suitability depends on the actual product rating and system design.
Before ordering, verify the 1000V DC rating, current capacity, and pole configuration. With correct selection and professional installation, it can provide a suitable disconnect point within a properly designed photovoltaic system.
